New York, NY—On April 13, 2018, the WFPG hosted a conversation with Alyssa Ayres on her new book Our Time Has Come: How India is Making its Place in the World. During her remarks, Ayres, a Council on Foreign Relations Senior Fellow and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia, described India’s transition from serving as a balancing power to actively shaping events on the world stage. She specifically highlighted India’s role in shaping the international agendas on climate change and international trade. Ayres encouraged the US to redefine how it views global powers and alliances, to make room for India at the table, and to support its application to join international organizations.
